“may all beings …
” Being with an emotion will always let you experience the sensations of that emotion. It is an act of kindness, an act of intentionally cultivating an understanding for it. The opposite would be, to withdraw from or reject the pureness of it – hence experiencing perhaps despair or destruction to the former. My point is, however, that no matter what experiences we experience, it is happening in the moment – the only possible time and so have the chance to simply become aware of it. So, we may “miss” to go with a feeling of sadness and instead experience through our rejection of it – despair. Can we be with that? Absolutely, we then can go compassionately with that emotion, giving it the space it needs, as it is already here. There never ever is a moment not good enough to practice acceptance through love and understanding, the building blocks of a compassionate approach to emotions, that may feel hurting or unpleasant. Just by allowing that manifestation to be here (as it already is) and by noticing our body in that same space, helps us to move from the head to the heart (body) I do this on a regular basis, when I am in bed, late at night, and my mind starts to go into overdrive – creating in its path emotions I may not want here, hahaha. I do return intentionally to my breath and body, breathing slowly and observing the inhale and the exhale, realizing, how my mind calms down and the associated body sensations flatten out, like a wave would do after a stormy day.
May all beings be happy, and free of angst.
May all beings be peaceful and free of fear.
May all beings feel their hearts and experience a breath of calm.
May all being feel loved.
